Tour Overview

If you want an isolated paradise, Wasini Island is the perfect getaway. Located on the southern coast of Kenya, the island is a hidden gem that most outdoor lovers will enjoy.

With its beautiful white sandy beaches, crystal-clear waters, and vibrant culture, Wasini is an ideal place to explore. Here are fun activities for your one-day trip to the island.

Tour Itinerary

Marine Life Watching
You will get to see the amazing marine life around the island. Flourishing coral reefs surround Wasini with dozens of fish, dolphins, and other marine animals.

For a more immersive experience, you will take a boat into the open waters to watch the colorful marine life. If lucky, some dolphins might come close to the boat while soaking up the sun.

Site Seeing
Wasini’s allure is beyond watching marine life. The island has a beautiful landscape that is captivating to everyone that sets foot on it.

The white sandy beaches and crystal-clear waters are just one of the many attractions that set it apart from other coastal islands. Additionally, the beaches are covered with thriving palm trees that provide shade and some refreshing coconut juice.

Apart from the beach, the whole Wasini has a breathtaking evergreen landscape. The tranquil environment offers an excellent walk-through experience through the island’s hills and lush vegetation. You can take a few selfies during your walk to remember your trip.

Learning About the Local Culture
During your one-day trip, you will immerse yourself in the island’s local culture. Wasini offers a slower pace of life where you can disconnect from the modern world. This lets you engage with the locals and learn about their Swahili culture.

During the trip, the guide will take you to a fishing village around the island. You will see some traditional homes made of coral stones and palm-leaf roofs. The locals handcraft nice accessories like shell necklaces and bracelets, which you can buy and keep as souvenirs.

Snorkeling and Scuba Diving
Snorkeling and scuba diving are fun activities you can enjoy at an added cost. If you do not mind getting wet, snorkeling and scuba diving will give you an excellent opportunity to see marine life up close. The island’s shallow coral gardens are more visible; you can interact with the fish or view some sea turtles.

Enjoying the Local Cuisine
The last thing on the trip is enjoying local Swahili cuisine. With the islander’s staple food being fresh seafood, they have a variety of dishes like coconut fish curry and grilled prawns that you can enjoy.

Wasini Island is the ideal location if you want to escape the stress of modern life and immerse yourself in the natural beauty and culture of the island. We look forward to seeing you on your next trip.
